A Quick Guide to 2010 (Subject to change)
July 24th - 25th Glemham Hall: Woodbridge, Suffolk IP13 0BT Event Plan, in aid of Help for Heroes.

Multi period event. ACWS artillery attending in their own right, but ACWS infantry wishing to attend/fight do so as guests of So.Sk.An with a Guest fee of £6. 

Arrival time: From 11am Thursday 22nd July. Please arrive before 8pm to simplify setting up (and because our staff do need sleep!). We definitely suggest arrival by Friday evening but if you do have to arrive Saturday, do so between 7.30am and 8.30am because of the anticipated traffic congestion thereafter.  Departure time: By 5pm Monday 26th July. Please leave “your patch” spotless.

Modern camp organized by the ECWS so please follow their instructions if using it.  Raised fires only within living history areas, ash and rubbish to be placed in skips provided.

DIRECTIONS
Take the A12 or A14 to Ipswich, then A12 towards Lowestoft.  Keep going past Woodbridge.  About 1 mile south of Glemham Hall art little Glemham turn right(down Church Road) towards Blaxhall, and follow the event signs.  Do not overshoot on the A12 and try to use the main entrance to the hall, which is a very tight turn on a dangerous corner. Turn left up Church Lane and enter the estate and past the Church.  If modern camping, immediately turn left into the modern camp field, or if heading for the living history, display or “day trip” parking areas keep going down the track.  The way to the latter is next to a barn opposite a pond with trees next to it.

7th - 8th August: Broadlands, Romsey SO51 9ZD : BLAST FROM THE PAST - Event Plan

Return of this popular multi period event, previously held at Cliveden, now at the home of the late Earl of Mountbatten, Broadlands Park.  Please ensure you set up in the correct modern camp on the field to the left of the track that backs onto the authentic camp.  The reenactors car park is also in the modern campers field.  In the Authentic camps firewood will be provided, and it is raised fires only, please try not to burn the grass.

DIRECTIONS
Exit the M27 at junction 3 (do not exit at junction 2 even though it is signed to Broadlands) Following the AA signposts in operation for this event, take the A3057 towards Romsey.  After about a mile on the left is a cream coloured house adjacent to the road, just past this house at the layby take the left hand turn marked "Broadlands Farms, Private Road", follow this road over a railway bridge and straight across the crossroads.  Further on at Home Farm on the left take the track on the right opposite this farm, which is the entrance to the events modern camp and all participants parking areas.

28th-30th August: Detling, Kent County Showground, Kent. ME14 3JF

DIRECTIONS
The Detling showground is accessible from both the M2 and the M20.  From M2 take junction 5  for the A249 (Detling Hill), and go southbound following the Maidstone signs.  You will see the showground clearly signposted on the right.  From the M20 take junction 7 and go northbound on the A249 (Detling Hill) following the signs for Sittingbourne/ Sheerness.  You will then see the showground clearly signposted to the left.  Follow the signs to yellow gate 6, which is the reenactors access to the So.Sk.An. field.  Please check vehicle access times, and ensure you have a vehicle pass (available from Roy Daines) and your membership card to hand on entry.  Vehicle passes to be displayed in car all weekend.

4th - 5th September: Puxton Park, Cowslip Lane, Hewish, Weston-Super-Mare. BS24 6AH

Return to this popular event, with a well stocked farm shop!.  Camping from Friday afternoon until Sunday night.  Modern camping is limited, battle and drill displays as last year.

DIRECTIONS
Exit the M5 at junction 21 and take the eastbound A370 towards Congresbury/Bristol. the entrance to the park is past the  road on the right marked “West Rolstone Road”

25th - 26th September: Bath. The American Museum, Claverton, Bath. BA2 7BD

Our anual return to our popular end of season venue with music by Crooked Style. Dragon's world famous Bar beer tent and disco. Battles both days and medal ceremony, camping is from Friday lunchtime.

DIRECTIONS

From the M4 take junction 18, taking the A46 exit (southbound) to Stroud/Bath.  At the roundabout take the first exit onto A46 heading to Bath.  Go through one roundabout, and take the slip road ramp, at the roundabout take the third  exit onto A4/London Road West.  Turn left at A36/Cleveland Place West.  Continue to follow A36, at the roundabout take the second exit onto A36/Sydney Place.  Continue to follow A36, at the roundabout take the first exit onto Bathwick hIll/Church Street.  Continue to follow Bathwick Hill, then follow the Oakley Road.  Take the slight left on the Claverton Down Road, following the signs for the University and the American Museum.  Turn left at Norwood Avenue towards the University, then take the first turn on the right.  Continue down the avenue till you see the turning to the left entering the camping field, which is before the entrance to the American Museum.
